Frequently asked questions
Is it safe?
As with all tooth movements, treatment comes with a calculated risk. QuickStraightTeeth™ takes every
precaution to make sure this procedure is as safe as can be.
Am I suitable for Quick Straight Teeth?
If you have a mild to moderate crowding, or spacing, in the front teeth then you could well be suitable for treatment with QuickStraightTeeth™. We offer a free consultation service for the patient to come in and see one of your dentists free of charge for a professional opinion with regards to their suitability.
Is it comfortable?
As with all orthodontic treatments, there is mild discomfort for a few days after the braces are initially placed, which can be alleviated by over the counter pain relief. After this the braces are usually extremely comfortable and unnoticeable to the wearer. The brackets for QuickStraightTeeth™ are made by 3M
so you can rest assured they have been rigourously tested for performance and wearability.
How long does the treatment take?
Because of the nature of cosmetic orthodontics, we are only looking to correct the front 6 or 8 teeth that are visible when you smile. It is not full comprehensive orthodontics, therefore, cases take between 4 and 24 weeks on average to complete depending on the complexity.
How often will I need to see my dentist?
Your dentist will assess this once your braces are placed, but on average you only need attend for a short
appointment once every 4 weeks.

Because the QuickStraightTeeth™ brackets are manufactured by 3M, the global leader in orthodontics, you can be rest assured the braces are aesthetic and blend in well with your natural teeth, most people will be unable to tell you are wearing braces at all.
Will the treatment affect my speech?
As with placing anything in the mouth, people may find that the salivate more, and lisp slightly immediately
after braces are fitted. This usually resolves with 2 or 3 days. If they have a job that requires them to speak in front of people, it would be wise to fit the appliances at the end of the week, and give them the weekend to get accustomed to them.
How do I clean around the braces?
Your dentist will explain how to clean around your new appliances. We also have on sale several special brushes that, provided they are used correctly, will ensure that the health of your teeth and gums is maintained throughout your treatment.
Is there any restriction on what I can eat with the braces in?
There are some restrictions. We recommend that you avoid all sticky, or very hard food. No toffees! If you
have fruit such as apples, or hard, crusty bread, it would be better to cut it up and put it to the back of your mouth to chew, as biting into it may dislodge your brackets.
Will I have to wear a retainer?
Yes you will. It is our belief that retention is for life! Teeth have a tendency to continually move throughout our lifetime, so the more we can do to prevent that, the better. We provide all necessary retention as part
of our all-inclusive package. If you do not subscribe to wear the retainers then you must assume the responsibility for the teeth drifting back to their original position.
